Stamford Ferry Feasibility Study
Three technical memos will be produced during the six-month study. A final document, summarizing the three technical memos and responding to public comments, will be published at the conclusion of the project. Topics will include initial screening of seven sites, additional study of four sites, detailed information on a final recommended site, an analysis of the demand for ferry service from Stamford Harbor, and identification of the types of ferry vessels, the vessel environment and ferry facility environment and amenities.
Technical Memo #1 (May 2007)
This memo contains preliminary analysis of the feasibility of seven sites for a ferry terminal location. It identifies land use, environmental and marine conditions. The seven sites chosen for analysis had to meet these criteria: (1) located on navigable water with access to Stamford Harbor, (2) not remove residential housing, (3) have sufficient land for a ferry building and parking and (4) be accessible to Stamford’s Downtown and the Stamford Transportation Center.

This memo contains additional technical analysis of four potential sites for a ferry terminal location. It considers issue of transportation access, environmental conditions, marine site characteristics, vessel options and demand for a ferry service.

Stamford Ferry Feasibility Study (March 2008)
This report will include detailed and summary information from the three technical memos. It will include recommendations to the City of Stamford on how to proceed with initiating Ferry service from Stamford Harbor.
